IT enclosures for building telecommunications
Solera's IT range provides enclosures for telecommunications connections, cables and components in homes and buildings. Select each enclosure according to its position in the network, available installation space and equipment requirements.
Choose by network function
- Network termination registers organise incoming services and their distribution inside the home. The range includes flush-mounted and surface-mounted models, plus references combining electrical distribution and telecommunications.
- Secondary registers house connections within the building's shared telecommunications network, with flush-mounted and surface-mounted formats.
- IT frames and doors close building recesses used for secondary registers. EI60 performance applies only to references declaring that classification.
- IT accessories provide closing and mounting components and frame-and-door options. Check compatibility against the enclosure reference.
Selection and installation checks
Check usable dimensions, depth, mounting surface, cable entries and maintenance access. When housing active equipment, also assess its power supply, mounting and ventilation requirements. Socket outlets, mounting plates and locks are not included in every version. Consult the technical documentation and individual product details to select the assembly required for the project.
When preparing a home's materials list, the reference configurator lets you indicate whether a network termination register will be installed. Use the list as a starting point and check each reference against the installation requirements.
Frequently asked questions
How does a network termination register differ from a secondary register?
A network termination register organises incoming services and their distribution within the home. A secondary register houses connections in the building’s shared network. Choose by the installation point’s function and diagram, rather than enclosure dimensions alone.
Do IT enclosures include sockets, locks and network equipment?
Not all do. Sockets, plates, rails and locks depend on the reference; do not assume network equipment is included. Check the product sheet and supplied parts to distinguish an empty enclosure from a version with incorporated accessories.
Can any IT enclosure house active equipment?
Do not assume this. Check usable dimensions, depth, mounting, power supply and the equipment’s ventilation requirements. Fitting inside the opening alone does not establish suitability. Compare the enclosure and accessories with the equipment requirements.
