Pushbuttons, selector switches and LED indicators for control panels
Solera pushbuttons and switches provide manual commands and status indication in machinery panels, industrial equipment and technical rooms in commercial buildings. This family contains eight references: two emergency pushbuttons, two spring-return pushbuttons, one three-position selector, two LED indicators and one identification label. Switching contacts, mechanical operation and visual indication serve different purposes.

Applications and selection criteria
Choose a spring-return pushbutton for a momentary command; for a maintained selection, compare the selector switch with the intended circuit diagram. Colour alone does not define the contact: PULSA5R is NC and PULSA5V is NO. PLD22 and PLD22V indicate the state of the circuit supplying them; they do not perform pushbutton switching or replace electrical protection.
Check contact type and quantity, voltage and switching capacity for the control load, panel cut-out diameter and space behind the panel. The published Ø 22 mm applies to the spring-return pushbuttons, selector and indicators; do not extend it automatically to other items. An indicator supply voltage is not the contact rating of another device.
For an emergency-stop function, select the contacts and circuit architecture according to the machine risk assessment. PE12 and PE12CA are not interchangeable simply because their actuators are similar. Twist release must not by itself cause a restart. Both pushbutton descriptions specify supply without a label; ET12 is listed as a separate accessory. Installation and checks must be performed by qualified personnel, following the documentation and with the circuit de-energised.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between PE12 NC and PE12CA NO?
NC means normally closed: the contact is closed at rest and opens when operated. NO means normally open: it is open at rest and closes when operated. Select according to the control diagram and required function; an NO contact is not a direct replacement for an NC contact.
Does the red PULSA5R work like the PE12 emergency pushbutton?
Their mechanical operation differs. PULSA5R is a flush pushbutton that returns when released; PE12 requires twist release. Sharing a red colour and an NC contact does not establish the same function. An emergency-stop application requires verification of the complete circuit and the intended device.
Can PLD22 and PLD22V indicators be connected to 24 V or DC?
These references are specified for a 230 V AC supply. Do not select them as 24 V or DC indicators without specific documentation allowing that use. Check the actual signalling voltage before choosing the indicator.
