Sealed junction boxes: choosing a range and protection rating
Solera sealed boxes house surface-mounted electrical connections and junctions. This category includes empty boxes, equipped assemblies and accessories with different entries, closures and IP ratings. Selection depends on the environment, wiring and required equipment; IP55, IP65 and IP68 describe different protection conditions.

Selecting boxes, entries and accessories
Check internal dimensions, conductor count, terminal conductor capacity and wiring space. Transparent lids and DIN rails belong to specific references and are not included in every box. For outdoor use, also check UV resistance and operating temperatures.
Sealed box accessories include connection and entry components; Ybox accessories provide specific fixing solutions. Verify compatibility and installation: an IP68 gland does not automatically turn an IP65 box into an IP68 assembly. Consult the technical documentation and use the special assembly quotation request for a proposed custom configuration.
Frequently asked questions
Can an IP65 box be used underwater?
IP65 alone does not establish suitability for immersion. Select a reference that states immersion conditions, such as an IP68 model, and follow its instructions.
Does every box include terminals or a DIN rail?
No. Contents vary by reference: some boxes accept these parts as optional accessories, while other models include equipment. Check the product sheet before choosing an assembly.
Do equipped assemblies have the same IP rating as empty boxes?
Do not assume this. Fitted devices and entries form part of the assembly. This category lists IP54 Schuko sockets; check the protection declared for the equipped reference.
