Do OB5003 and PROT-1 do the same job?
No. The shutter acts at the socket opening; the protector encloses a plug-and-socket joint. Select the accessory for the point requiring protection.
Does PROT-1 make any extension lead suitable outdoors?
Do not assume so. Its IP44 rating does not replace checking the cable, plug, socket and complete assembly. Every element must suit the intended exposure.
Is fitting the plug inside PROT-1 enough?
Check space for both plug and socket, cable exits, closure and overall fit. The protector dimensions do not establish compatibility with every connection.
