IP65 sealed boxes without cones: entries and usable space

Solera IP65 boxes without cones house electrical connections and junctions with entries prepared according to the selected reference. The range includes different sizes, colours and versions with transparent lids or DIN rails. Choose the enclosure and entry components to suit the wiring layout.

Usable dimensions and catalogue variants

816 is listed at 153 × 110 × 65 mm; 6816 has a transparent lid. In other sizes, 817G and 886G include DIN rails, while 6817G and 6886G combine transparent lids and DIN rails. Check each reference’s supplied equipment rather than assuming a common specification for the category.

Distinguish external and internal dimensions when sizing the assembly. For example, 818A lists 215 × 200 × 140 mm externally and 207 × 192 × 131 mm internally. Allow space for terminals, conductors and cable bend radii; available depth can be decisive even when the front area seems sufficient.

Preparing entries and selecting accessories

Check whether the reference has plain sides or prepared entry points and follow its opening method. Select entry components using the hole, thread and cable diameter. Sealing depends on their installation and lid closure; an IP68 accessory does not automatically make an IP65 enclosure suitable for immersion.

No. Check the side type and entry preparation for each reference. The category does not specify a shared number or diameter of entries across the range.

Do external dimensions show the available connection space?

No. Use internal dimensions and drawings, allowing for supports, DIN rails and accessories. The 818A example shows different internal and external dimensions.

Does every IP65 box have a transparent lid and DIN rail?

No. Variants include either, both or neither. Check the code and description; for example, 6817G combines a transparent lid and DIN rail.
