Solera halogen and LED lampholders: GU10, GU5.3/6.35 and GZ10
PGU10, PGU56 and PGZ10 are ceramic lampholders with 150 mm silicone leads. PGU10 is for GU10 and PGZ10 for GZ10, both with declared ratings of 2 A and 250 V~. PGU56 is listed for GU5.3/6.35 and 12 V; it must not be confused with a lampholder for direct mains connection.

Selecting the component
Select the exact lamp cap and lamp supply first. Then check dimensions, fixing, space for conductors and the assembly’s thermal conditions. The lampholder provides electrical and mechanical contact; this does not mean it includes a transformer, LED driver or dimming function. The halogen/LED description does not make every lamp of those technologies compatible.
Selection must respect the voltage, current, power and thermal conditions of both the component and the luminaire. Disconnect the supply before installation or replacement and follow the manufacturer’s instructions; a matching lamp cap alone does not validate the complete assembly.
Frequently asked questions
Can PGU56 be connected directly to the mains?
It must not be treated as a mains model: its declared voltage is 12 V. The supply must match the lamp and complete assembly.
Are GU10 and GZ10 equivalent for every assembly?
Do not assume interchangeability. Check the exact lamp cap and the compatibility declared for the lampholder.
Is a transformer or LED driver included?
The data sheets describe the lampholder and leads; a supply unit must not be assumed to be included. Check the luminaire’s components.
