Distribution boards

Solera’s surface-mounted boxes provide durable protection for electrical installations in industrial environments.

  • 3 to 15 modules: Wide range of sizes for all setups.
  • Quick installation: Safe and easy mounting process.
  • Robust design: Perfect for industrial conditions.

Weatherproof distribution enclosures for surface mounting

Solera surface distribution boxes are thermoplastic enclosures for modular devices and their connections. They mount onto the wall and support compact board assemblies designed around the project’s circuit layout. The catalogue includes references from 3 to 15 modules, with different sizes, doors and closing arrangements. Check equipment and declared characteristics for each model.

Select capacity and usable dimensions

Calculate device space and planned spare capacity, then check usable depth, connections and cable routes. Module count does not replace those dimensions. For example, reference 898 has 3 modules, external dimensions of 82 × 155 × 82 mm and internal dimensions of 75 × 145 × 75 mm. Its product sheet specifies an included DIN rail and no terminal blocks; do not generalise these details across the family.

Cable entries, fixing and protection

  • Check the selected reference’s IP rating, IK impact resistance and stated location conditions.
  • Establish whether cable entries need machining and select suitable sealing components.
  • Compare fixing, opening, closure and access space for devices.
  • Check supplied parts and accessory compatibility before equipping the enclosure.

The finished assembly’s protection also depends on entries, closure and installation. Follow the product instructions and assess the assembly’s thermal conditions. The description “weatherproof” alone does not establish suitability for every location.

Documents and related solutions

Use the technical documents to check specifications, drawings and supplied parts. For other capacities or configurations, compare Vera and Indubox in the enclosure catalogue. To discuss an equipped board with another component arrangement, use the special assembly quotation request and specify supply, circuits and devices.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 15 module box include 15 protective devices?

No. Modules describe space for devices, not the quantity supplied. Check each reference’s contents and select protective devices according to the circuit layout. An empty enclosure and an equipped board are different supplies.

Do all boxes have prepared cable entries?

Do not assume this. For example, the 898 sheet specifies plain sides requiring cable entry machining. Check the model’s drawing and instructions to define passages, seals and fixing before preparing the assembly.

Is the description “weatherproof” enough to select a box for outdoor use?

No. Compare the reference’s IP rating and stated use conditions with the expected exposure. Check cable entries, closure and mounting too. The category description does not replace the product sheet or guarantee suitability for every outdoor condition.
