IP55 sealed boxes with cones: entries and mounting options

Solera IP55 boxes with cones house surface-mounted electrical connections and junctions. Cones provide entry points that must be adapted to the cable or conduit following the instructions. The catalogue includes round and rectangular formats and variants in colour, lid and internal mounting equipment.

Selecting dimensions, lid and DIN rail

Selection examples include 715, listed at 100 × 100 × 55 mm, and 716, at 153 × 110 × 65 mm. Models 715TP and 716TP have transparent lids; 717G and 686G include DIN rails. These options belong to specific references and must not be assumed for every box.

A transparent lid allows visible elements to be observed without opening; a DIN rail supports compatible components. Allow room for conductors, terminals and cable bend radii. Check usable dimensions in the product sheet or drawing as well as external size.

Preparing entries and maintaining protection

Select cones using the box instructions and entry size. Preparation must maintain a suitable fit: do not create an oversized opening or assume every cable diameter is compatible. IP55 does not establish suitability for immersion.

Can the cones accept any cable or conduit?

No. Entries must suit the permitted diameter and preparation method of the reference. Check the cone, cable or conduit and closure before completing installation.

Does every IP55 box include a DIN rail?

No. The catalogue identifies models with DIN rails, such as 717G and 686G. Cone entries do not determine the internal equipment supplied.

Does a transparent lid increase the IP rating?

Do not infer protection from the lid material or appearance. Transparent versions are specific references whose rating and installation conditions must be checked in their sheets.
