Special multipoint sockets
The ION Series special extension leads are designed for high-performance environments, with protection or USB charging functions according to the reference.

Special ION socket strips: USB and protection by reference
The five special ION socket strips have four to six 2P+E outlets rated at 16 A, 250 V AC, an illuminated switch and 1.5 m H05VV-F 3G1.5 mm² cable. For indoor desks and domestic equipment, select the specific additional function: USB charging, transient surge limitation, or surge limitation plus overload protection.

Applications and selection criteria
For 51ILS, 61ILS, 41ILSO and 61ILSO, the ION ED-5 manual specifies Uc 255 V at 50 Hz, Uoc 5 kV between L-N, L-PE and N-PE, and Up 1.5 kV. These are Type 3 transient surge limiter parameters. They do not establish protection against every sustained overvoltage or replace coordination with installation protection.
41ILSO and 61ILSO add overload protection. If it trips, the manual instructs waiting a few minutes and resetting manually; remove the overload cause before resetting. Do not describe 51ILS and 61ILS as having the same overload function.
51ILAC provides USB-A and USB-C charging at 5 V DC. USB-C alone does not establish fast charging, USB Power Delivery or universal laptop charging. Confirm the total output current and sharing between ports against the marking and documentation applicable to the supplied unit.
All five references specify shutters, IP20 and a 3,680 W maximum for the strip. Check combined load, earthing, supply and indoor positioning. Additional functions do not increase the load limit or make the product watertight.

What is the difference between 61ILS and 61ILSO?
Both have six outlets, an illuminated switch and 1.5 m cable. 61ILS has a transient surge limiter; 61ILSO adds overload protection with manual reset as described in the manual.
Does 51ILAC combine USB with ILSO protection?
Its data sheet specifies USB-A and USB-C but does not confirm the surge and overload functions of 41ILSO and 61ILSO. Do not combine the functions of different references into a single product description.
Does a Type 3 protector cover all overvoltages?
No such assumption should be made. The manual identifies a transient surge limiter with specific parameters. Other conditions, including sustained overvoltage, and coordination with the distribution board must be assessed separately.
